Darlene Hayes, senior appraiser for CB Richard Ellis, obtained her MAI (Master, Appraisal Institute) designation in September, 2011. The MAI is the highest professional designation a real estate appraiser can obtain.

CREW-LA 2011 Advisory Board Member, Christine Deschaine, was featured in the Los Angeles Business Journal on July 20th for her humanitarian work with two organizations, Uganda-based Bringing Hope to the Family and U.S.-based Embrace Uganda. Ms. Deschaine, Principal at Lee & Associates-LA North-Ventura Inc., traveled to Uganda to help build and open a small retail store in the impoverished African nation. The store will sell arts and crafts, as well as rent dresses for weddings and other events. The money generated will go back into the local market and help stimulate the country’s economy.

CREW-LA 2011 Advisory Board member and Past President, Lisa Quateman, recently merged her law firm, Quateman LLP, with the national firm Polsinelli Shughart. Ms. Quateman will continue to serve as Managing Partner in Los Angeles with her entire legal team and staff officially joining Polsinelli Shughart, including CREW-LA member, Donna Mo. According to the National Law Journal, Polsinelli Shughart is one of the top 100 law firms in the nation, with more than 530 attorneys working in various major cities. The firm will provide a full-service platform in the areas of business law, financial services, real estate and business litigation, serving corporate, institutional and individual clients.
