Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network Launches Chapter in Utah

 CREW Utah is headquartered in Salt Lake City ;

CREW Network’s 61 st Chapter in North America

Lawrence, KS – June 18, 2007— Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network, announced today the launch of its 61 st chapter in North America, CREW Utah, Inc.

CREW Utah , based in Salt Lake City , has 15 founding members who anticipate growing the chapter to 100 members within one year. The chapter was founded to promote business opportunities for women in the field of commercial real estate and to provide a communication network for its members.

“CREW Utah is honored and excited to have been accepted into the national organization,” said Marianne Sorensen, President of the Utah group and real estate attorney. “We feel that the time is right for Utah women to take part in this powerful network, and anticipate that our affiliation will be a great benefit to those of us who work in commercial real estate, whether in law, sales, management, development, title, architecture, finance, or other related professional fields.”

“CREW Utah had a very strong start due to a small group of women who knew the benefit of organized networking opportunities for women and saw the need for CREW Network in their area,” said Gail Ayers, President and Chief Executive Officer of CREW Network. “Several of the founding members had attended CREW Network events and were able to describe their vision to other key players in the market, who agreed that it was the right organization and the right time.”

According to Sorensen, “The efforts of Crew Utah in seeking recognition as an official chapter of Crew Network have been remarkable. We had anticipated applying for acceptance in October of this year, but a lot of hard work, along with the encouragement of Crew Network, enabled us to complete the application process ahead of schedule.”

CREW Network is a professional association dedicated to advancing the success of women in commercial real estate, through chapter level functions, national conferences and ongoing education. In June 2007, CREW Network published its second research report, CREW Network: Minding the Gap, which articulates strategies for women and companies to take in order for commercial real estate to become more diverse.

The CREW Network national convention and marketplace will be held October 3-6 in Denver .
